The 2019 Burleith summer picnic was bigger and better than ever. Over 250 people enjoyed the circus-themed, first-ever “green” celebration with some of the best weather in many years.

Highlights included a magic show, acupuncture and massage, face painting, firetruck (with hats for kids), top dog contest, raffle, Rocklands BBQ, cotton candy, petting zoo, and the awesome band Aurora Duo.

The BCA would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to Lenore Rubino and Melanie Gisler for organizing this year's extravaganza and to sponsors Georgetown University, MedStar Georgetown Hospital, Chryssa Wolfe of Hanlon Design Build, Petco, and Washington Fine Properties/Lenore G. Rubino.

Finally, we were once again honored with so many volunteers: Erik Warga, Charlene Brooks, Patterson Clark, Gwen Coleman, Carolyn Ehardt and Ben Blount, Mark and Max Gisler, Dick Hall, Kay Langenbacher, Max Langenbacher (and five other rising School Without Walls seniors), Ed Levy, Maureen Long, Maria McCullough, Ann and Jim Nix, Pat and Richard Reed, Annika Russell, Dwane Starlin, Gwen Verhoff, and all of the members of the BCA Board.

Times like this make you happy to live in the wonderful neighborhood of Burleith. You are all the very best!
